KI TISSA (When You Take)

 

“Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘When you take a census of the Israelites to count them,

each one must pay the Lord a ransom for his life at the time he is counted.

Then no plague will come on them when you number them.”  (Exodus 30:11–12)

 

주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. 네가 이스라엘 자손의 수를 세어 인구를 조사할 때에,

그들은 각자 자기 목숨 값으로 속전을 주에게 바쳐야 한다. 그래야만 인구를 조사할 때에,

그들에게 재앙이 미치지 않을 것이다. 출애굽기 31:11,12

 

Our last two Torah studies, Terumah and Tetzaveh, have focused on the design of the wilderness Tabernacle, furnishings, and priestly garments.  Daily Torah in this week continues with God’s instructions to Moses on the mountain.

God commands Moses to take a census of the people of Israel and to instruct them to give a half shekel of silver.

 

하나님께서는 모세에게 이스라엘 백성들을 대상으로 인구 조사를 실시하고 은 반 세겔을 내라고 명령하십니다.

The Sacred Half Shekel: Uniting in Divine Purpose

신성한 반 세겔: 거룩한 목적을 위한 하나됨

 

In the timeless narrative atop the mountain, amidst whispers of divine instruction, Moses receives a command that transcends mere enumeration; it is a directive of spiritual significance echoing through the ages. 

 

시대를 초월한 산 정상에서의 이야기에서 모세는 하나님의 지시 속에서 단순한 셈하는 것 이상의 영적 의미를 지닌 명령을 받습니다. 

 

Yet, beneath the surface of this census lies a profound allegory, one that resonates with the very essence of focusing on relationships. "Lift up your head," transcends the mundane task of numerical accounting; it calls for the elevation of Yeshua, the head of Israel and the cornerstone of the church. In this sacred act of lifting, we are reminded of our role as custodians of divine alignment, tasked with uplifting the chosen ones and establishing them as noble priests in the eyes of the Lord.

 

그러나 이 인구 조사의 표면 아래에는 관계에 초점을 맞춘 이야기가 숨어 있습니다. "머리를 들어라"는 의미는 숫자 계산이라는 일상적인 작업을 넘어 이스라엘의 머리이자 교회의 초석이신 예슈아를 높이 들어 올리는 것을 의미합니다. 이 성스러운 들어 올리는 행위에서 우리는 선택된 사람들을 들어 올려 주님 앞에서 고귀한 제사장으로 세우는 임무를 맡은 신성한 정렬의 관리자로서의 역할을 상기하게 됩니다.

 

The census of Israel, therefore, becomes more than a mere headcount; it becomes a metaphor for unity, a call for Israelites and Gentiles alike to converge under the banner of the gospel, to lift Yeshua as the head of the unified body.

 

따라서 이스라엘 인구 조사는 단순한 인구 수 집계가 아니라, 이스라엘인과 이방인 모두가 복음의 깃발 아래 모여 예슈아를 통일된 몸의 머리로 들어 올리라는 연합에 대한 은유가 됩니다.

 

 As we pay the ransom of our lives, offering half a shekel — a symbol of completion through unity — we affirm our commitment to contribute to the divine purpose. For in this confession of half a shekel, we acknowledge our intrinsic interdependence, our inability to attain completeness without each other.

 

우리는 연합을 통한 완성을 상징하는 반 세겔을 바치며 우리 생명의 대속물을 지불할 때 하나님의 목적에 기여하겠다는 우리의 헌신을 확증합니다. 이 반 세겔의 고백에서 우리는 서로 없이는 완전함에 도달할 수 없는 우리의 본질적인 상호 의존성을 인정합니다.

 

Indeed, the confession of half a shekel is more than a mere transaction; it is a profound surrender, a declaration of our willingness to yield to the transformative power of Yeshua's blood. Through this act of redemption, we invite the Spirit of God to infuse our very being, to sanctify our breath as prayer, and to guard against the intrusion of any spirit other than God's spirit.

 

사실, 반 세겔의 고백은 단순한 거래가 아니라 예슈아의 보혈의 변화시키는 능력에 기꺼이 굴복하겠다는 선언이자 항복입니다. 이 구속의 행위를 통해 우리는 하나님의 영이 우리 존재에 스며들고, 우리의 호흡이 기도로 거룩해지며, 하나님의 영이 아닌 다른 영이 들어오지 않도록 보호합니다.

 

Thus, as we embark on this journey of spiritual revival, let us heed the call to unity, to lift up the head of Yeshua, and to unite as one body — Israel, Gentiles, and the church. For in this sacred union lies the promise of completeness, the assurance of God's purpose, and the fulfillment of our collective destiny.

 

따라서 우리가 영적 부흥의 여정을 시작하면서 예슈아의 머리를 들어 올리고 이스라엘, 이방인, 교회가 한 몸으로 연합하라는 부르심에 귀를 기울이도록 합시다. 이 연합에는 완전함의 약속, 하나님 목적의 확신, 그리고 우리 공동 운명의 성취가 담겨 있기 때문입니다.

The command of the Lord thundered forth,

"Give a half-shekel," He said to Moses.

Each must offer a ransom for his soul,

To stave off the tragedy that lurks.

 

주님의 명령이 우레와 같이 울려 퍼졌습니다,
"반 세겔을 내라" 주께서 모세에게 말씀하셨습니다.
각자 자신의 영혼을 위한 대속물을 바쳐야 합니다,
비극을 막기 위해.

 

But what is this calamity, this bane?

It is the stumbling, the falling away.

To avoid it, one must grasp onto something,

And that something is none other than Jesus.

 

하지만 이 재앙, 이 괴로움은 무엇일까요?
그것은 걸려 넘어지고 실족하는 것입니다.
그것을 피하려면 무언가를 붙잡아야 합니다,
그 무언가는 다름 아닌 예수님입니다.

 

"Cast a line into the sea," came the instruction,

"And catch the first fish you find."

For within its mouth, a shekel you'll discover,

A ransom for life, a grace foreordained.

 

"바다에 낚싯줄을 던져라." 지시가 있습니다,
"그리고 첫 번째 물고기를 잡아라."
그 입 속에서 한 세겔을 발견하게 될 것이니까요,
생명을 위한 대속물이자 예정된 은총이죠.

 

And Jesus, the very ransom for life,

Prepared a shekel even within a fish's mouth.

 

그리고 생명의 대속물이신 예수님,
물고기 입속에서도 한 세겔을 준비하셨습니다.

 

And what of the atonement money from Israel's sons?

for the service in the tabernacle, it was.

A reminder before the Lord, it served,

A token of atonement, a memorial for life.

 

이스라엘의 아들들이 낸 속죄금은 어떻게 되었나요?
그것은 성막에서의 예배를 위한 것이었습니다.
주님 앞에 드리는 예배를 위한 것이었죠,
속죄의 증표이자 평생의 기념물이었습니다.

 

These tales, what do they speak?

Of our duty to guard one another,

Through greater unity, to fulfill the Lord's decree.

 

이 이야기들은 무엇을 말하나요?
서로를 지켜야 할 의무에 대한 이야기입니다,
더 큰 연합을 통해 주님의 명령을 이루어야 합니다.
