The power of identity given the Israel

 

In the timeless tapestry of faith and devotion, there exists a sacred command bestowed upon the Israelites , a divine directive echoing through the corridors of time — the command to ignite a lamp with pure oil, to keep it holy, to preserve its sanctity, and to diligently maintain its flame. 

 

시대를 초월한 신앙과 헌신의 태피스트리에는 이스라엘 자손에게 부여된 명령, 즉 순수한 기름으로 등불을 켜고, 거룩하게 유지하고, 신성함을 보존하고, 부지런히 불꽃을 유지하라는 신성한 지시가 존재합니다.

 

From the annals of antiquity to the present day, this command has been upheld, revered, and entrusted to those chosen to serve as custodians of the sacred flame — the priests. For it is through the establishment of these consecrated vessels, through the divine commissioning of their roles, that the light of divine grace is perpetuated and the covenant between humanity and the Divine is upheld.

 

고대의 연대기로부터 오늘날에 이르기까지 이 명령은 거룩한 불꽃의 관리자로 선택된 사람들, 즉 제사장들에게 지켜지고 존경받으며 맡겨졌습니다. 이 봉헌된 그릇으로 세워짐과 신성한 역할의 위임을 통해 은총의 빛이 지속되고 인류와 하나님 사이의 언약이 유지되기 때문입니다.

 

The power of identity bestowed upon the collective soul of Israel, the chosen people of the Lord. As the scriptures proclaim, "I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." Thus, the restoration of Israel to its rightful position as a priestly nation becomes paramount, for t he Gentile Church in bestowing this sacred identity to the Israel, the cycle of enmity and persecution is shattered, and the pathway to blessings is illuminated.

 

선택받은 백성인 이스라엘의 집단적 영혼에 부여된 정체성의 힘이 있습니다. "너를 축복하는 자에게는 내가 복을 내리고 너를 저주하는 자에게는 내가 저주하리니 땅의 모든 족속이 너로 말미암아 복을 얻을 것이라"는 성경의 말씀처럼 말입니다. 따라서 이스라엘이 제사장 국가로서의 정당한 지위를 회복하는 것이 가장 중요한데, 이방 교회가 이스라엘에게 신성한 정체성을 부여할 때 적대와 박해의 순환이 끊어지고 축복의 길이 밝혀지기 때문입니다.

 

Central to this spiritual metamorphosis is the act of clothing — not merely the adorning of physical garments, but the vesting of spiritual identity. For just as one clothes oneself in righteousness and holiness, so too must the collective consciousness of Israel and the Lord's people be adorned with the mantle of God's favor.

 

이러한 영적 변화의 중심에는 단순히 육체적 의복을 장식하는 것이 아니라 영적 정체성을 부여하는 옷을 입히는 행위가 있습니다. 의와 거룩함으로 옷을 입는 것처럼 이스라엘과 주님의 사람들도 하나님의 은총의 망토로 장식되어야 합니다.

 

Indeed, the scriptures beckon us to "put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness." Yet, this exhortation extends beyond individual transformation; it encompasses the collective destiny of a chosen people. For in clothing Israel with the garments of nobility, in bestowing upon them the dignity and honor befitting a priestly nation, the very fabric of existence is woven anew.

 

실제로 성경은 우리에게 "하나님을 따라 참된 의와 거룩함으로 지으심을 받은 새 사람을 입으라"고 말합니다. 그러나 이 권고는 개인의 변화를 넘어 선택된 민족의 집단적 운명을 포함합니다. 이스라엘에게 고귀한 옷을 입히고 제사장 나라에 걸맞은 존귀와 명예를 부여함으로써 존재의 구조 자체가 새롭게 짜여지기 때문입니다.

 

But beware, for in the pursuit of God's favor, one must tread cautiously, guarding against the allure of power and the temptation to control. For the spirit of hegemony and domination, if left unchecked, can usurp the rightful place of God, heralding the rise of spiritual tyranny and discord.

 

그러나 하나님의 은총을 추구할 때는 권력의 매력과 통제하려는 유혹을 경계하며 조심스럽게 걸어야 합니다. 헤게모니와 지배의 영을 그대로 놔두면 하나님의 자리를 빼앗아 영적 폭정과 불화가 일어날 수 있기 때문입니다.

 

Thus, let us clothe one another in garments of compassion, understanding, and grace. For in the act of uplifting others, we partake in the eternal dance of creation, where love reigns supreme, and the sacred flame of divine grace continues to burn brightly in the hearts of all who seek its illumination.

 

그러므로 우리는 긍휼과 이해, 은혜의 옷으로 서로를 입힙시다. 다른 사람을 높이는 행위에서, 우리는 사랑이 최고로 지배하는 창조의 영원한 춤에 참여하며, 거룩한 은혜의 불꽃은 그 빛을 찾는 모든 사람의 마음에서 계속 밝게 타오르고 있습니다.

Consecration of Priests

 

In the commandment to fashion loaves of finest wheat flour, we discover a metaphor for refinement — the process by which the raw material of our being is transformed into vessels of divine purpose. Like the grinding of flour from kernels of wheat, our souls undergo the rigors of life's trials and tribulations, emerging purified and enriched by the hand of providence.

 

고운 밀가루로 빵을 만들라는 계명에서 우리는 우리 존재의 원재료가 신성한 목적의 그릇으로 변화하는 과정, 즉 정련에 대한 은유를 발견합니다. 밀알에서 밀가루를 빻는 것처럼 우리 영혼은 인생의 시련과 고난의 과정을 거치며 섭리의 손길로 정화되고 풍요로워집니다.

 

Just as the ingredients are combined into one basket, so too must the  priesthood unite in harmony, transcending the boundaries of ego and self-interest to serve a higher calling.

 

재료가 하나의 바구니에 합쳐진 것처럼, 우리들도 자아나 이기심의 경계를 넘어 더 높은 부름에 응하기 위해 조화롭게 연합해야 합니다.

 

The act of washing Aaron and his sons with water at the entrance to the tent of meeting symbolizes the purification of the soul through prayer and devotion. Just as water cleanses the body, so too do tears of prayer and through the Word cleanse the spirit, preparing it to receive the anointing oil of divine grace.

 

회막 입구에서 아론과 그의 아들들을 물로 씻는 행위는 기도와 헌신을 통한 영혼의 정화를 상징합니다. 물이 몸을 깨끗하게 하는 것처럼 기도의 눈물로, 말씀으로 영혼을 깨끗하게 하여 은혜의 기름부음을 받을 수 있도록 준비시킵니다.

 

The anointing with oil serves as a potent symbol of healing and renewal, as the oil is poured upon the head, symbolizing the pouring out of divine blessings upon the wounded and broken places within the heart.

 

기름 부음은 치유와 회복의 강력한 상징으로, 기름이 머리에 부어지는 것은 마음 속 상처받고 상한 곳에 신성한 축복이 부어지는 것을 상징합니다.

 

The burning of the bull's flesh outside the camp represents the offering of a sin sacrifice, a necessary act to cleanse the altar and prevent pollution within the sacred space. 

 

진영 밖에서 소의 살을 태우는 것은 속죄 제물을 바치는 것으로, 제단을 정화하고 신성한 공간의 오염을 막기 위해 필요한 행위입니다. 

 

The application of blood upon the right earlobes, thumbs, and big toes symbolizes the consecration of the senses and actions to worship service, as the priesthood commits to hearing and obeying the word of the Lord.

 

오른쪽 귓볼, 엄지손가락, 엄지발가락에 피를 바르는 것은 제사장들이 주님의 말씀을 듣고 순종할 것을 약속하면서 예배를 위해 감각과 행동을 헌신하는 것을 상징합니다.

 

If we, the Gentile churches, fulfill the command to establish Israel as a kingdom of priests by washing them with water, putting them in perfect clothing, anointing them with oil, and sanctifying them, we too will become holy and the passage of grace will open.

 

이방인 교회인 우리도 이스라엘을 물로 씻고, 온전한 옷을 입히고, 기름을 부어 거룩하게 함으로써 제사장 왕국으로 세우라는 명령을 이행한다면 우리도 거룩해지고 은혜의 통로가 열릴 것입니다.
