Scale of Justice

 

In the existence, where the threads of time weave through the ages, there emerges an epoch unlike any before. It is an age where the resonance of divine utterance echoes ceaselessly, penetrating the very fabric of our lives with the Word of God. Yet, paradoxically, it is also an age of profound thirst—a thirst born not of scarcity, but of a dearth within our souls, longing to be quenched by the life-giving waters of truth.

 

세월의 실타래가 얽히고 설킨 존재속에서 이전과는 다른 시대가 열리고 있습니다. 말씀의 울림이 끊임없이 울려 퍼지고, 하나님의 말씀이 우리 삶의 구조를 관통하는 시대입니다. 그러나 역설적이게도 이 시대는 깊은 갈증, 즉 부족함에서 비롯된 것이 아니라 생명을 주는 진리의 물로 해소되기를 갈망하는 우리 영혼의 결핍으로 인한 목마름의 시대이기도 합니다.

 

God, the eternal gardener, seeks fertile soil in which to sow the seeds of His wisdom. But what is this soil, if not the receptive heart, plowed and prepared to receive His precious Word? Just as the diligent farmer tends to his fields, so too must we cultivate the inner landscape of our hearts, making ready the ground for the divine harvest that awaits.

 

영원한 정원사이신 하나님께서는 그분의 지혜의 씨앗을 뿌릴 비옥한 토양을 찾으십니다. 그러나 이 땅은 그분의 귀한 말씀을 받을 수 있도록 갈아서 준비된 마음이 아니라면 무엇입니까? 부지런한 농부가 밭을 가꾸는 것처럼 우리도 우리 마음의 내면을 경작하여 하나님의 수확을 위한 땅을 준비해야 합니다.

 

In the whispers of Exodus 23:20, we find promises of guidance and protection, embodied in the form of an Angel sent forth to pave the way. This Angel, bearing the name of God Himself, heralds the advent of the Messiah Yeshua who walks.

 

출애굽기 23:20의 속삭임에서 우리는 길을 열기 위해 보내진 천사의 모습으로 구체화된 인도와 보호의 약속을 발견할 수 있습니다. 하나님 자신의 이름을 가진 이 천사는 메시아 예슈아의 도래를 예고합니다.

 

Yeshua, the Word made flesh, beckons us to a life of righteousness, free from the shackles of sin that weigh heavy upon the soul. For in our speech and actions, we hold the power to either glorify the Holy Spirit or grieve it grievously. Let our tongues be as prophets, proclaiming truth and love, rather than instruments of slander and division.

 

말씀이 육신이 되신 예슈아는 영혼을 무겁게 짓누르는 죄의 족쇄에서 벗어나 의로운 삶으로 우리를 초대합니다. 우리의 말과 행동에는 성령을 영화롭게 하거나 슬프게 할 수 있는 힘이 있습니다. 우리의 혀가 비방과 분열의 도구가 아니라 진실과 사랑을 선포하는 선지자가 되게 합시다.

 

Yet, in our journey towards righteousness, we encounter the timeless wisdom of Torah—the guiding light that illuminates the path of reconciliation and redemption. Here, in the Mishpatim, we discover the essence of divine justice and mercy, embodied in the injunction to love our neighbors as ourselves.

 

그러나 의로움을 향한 여정에서 우리는 화해와 구원의 길을 밝혀주는 토라의 영원한 지혜, 즉 인도하는 빛을 만나게 됩니다. 여기서 우리는 미쉬파팀에서 이웃을 내 몸과 같이 사랑하라는 명령에 담긴 신성한 정의와 자비의 본질을 발견합니다.

 

For it is in the act of loving our enemies, of turning away from enmity and strife, that we find the true essence of Torah. No longer shall we seek vengeance or harbor grudges, but instead, we shall embrace the transformative power of forgiveness and compassion.

 

원수를 사랑하고 적대감과 분쟁에서 돌아서는 행위에서 우리는 토라의 진정한 본질을 발견할 수 있습니다. 더 이상 복수를 추구하거나 원한을 품지 않고 용서와 긍휼이라는 변혁적인 힘을 받아들일 것입니다.

 

Let us heed the call to cultivate hearts fertile with faith, minds receptive to divine wisdom, and tongues quick to speak words of love and reconciliation. For in this age of perpetual revelation, it is through our actions that we pave the way for the kingdom of God to reign in our midst.

 

믿음으로 비옥한 마음, 거룩한 지혜를 받아들이는 정신, 사랑과 화해의 말을 재빨리 말하는 혀를 가지라는 부르심에 귀 기울여 봅시다. 이 영원한 계시의 시대에 우리의 행동을 통해 하나님 나라가 우리 가운데 통치할 수 있는 길을 열어야 합니다.

The Angel of God strides ahead, clearing the path through lands fraught with ancient enmities and trepidations. The territories of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites, and Jebusites stand as testament to the multifaceted manifestations of human discord—seats of power, embodiments of fear, symbols of division, manifestations of the lowly, and altars to false gods.

 

하나님의 천사는 고대의 적대감과 두려움으로 가득 찬 땅을 가로질러 길을 닦으며 앞으로 나아갑니다. 아모리, 헷, 브리스, 가나안, 히위, 여부스 족속의 영토는 권력의 자리, 두려움의 화신, 분열의 상징, 비천한 자의 표상, 거짓 신에게 제사하는 제단 등 인간 불화의 다면적인 표현을 보여주는 증거가 됩니다.

 

In the annals of history, these peoples have woven a tapestry of enmity, rooted in fear and desire, entrenched in idolatry and strife. Yet, amidst the chaos, a clarion call resounds—a call to worship the one true God, to forsake the idols of enmity, and to demolish the standing-stones of falsehood.

 

역사의 연대기에서 이 민족은 우상 숭배와 분쟁에 사로잡혀 두려움과 욕망에 뿌리를 둔 적대감을 엮어 왔습니다. 그러나 혼돈 속에서도 유일하신 참 하나님을 경배하고, 대적의 우상을 버리고, 거짓의 주춧돌을 무너뜨리라는 분명한 부름이 울리고 있습니다.

 

For in the act of worship, amidst the throes of enmity, life finds renewal, and vitality is restored. It is a testament to the transformative power of faith, to the promise of a full and abundant life in the presence of the Almighty.

 

예배를 드릴 때, 적대감의 고통 속에서 삶은 새로움을 찾고 활력을 회복합니다. 예배는 변화를 일으키는 믿음의 힘에 대한 증거이며, 전능자의 면전에서 충만하고 풍요로운 삶을 약속받는다는 증거입니다.

 

But the journey towards reconciliation is fraught with challenges. The allure of idolatry beckons, tempting us to bow before false gods, to serve their dictates, and to emulate their practices. Yet, we are called to resist, to demolish the idols of enmity that dwell within us, and to nail them to the cross of Yeshua.

 

그러나 화해를 향한 여정은 도전으로 가득 차 있습니다. 우상숭배의 유혹은 우리가 거짓 신에게 절하고, 그들의 지시를 따르고, 그들의 관습을 모방하도록 손짓합니다. 그러나 우리는 저항하여 우리 안에 있는 대적의 우상을 무너뜨리고 예슈아의 십자가에 못 박으라는 부름을 받았습니다.

 

And as we journey forth, guided by the Word, we are met with the promise of deliverance—hornets sent forth to drive out the forces of enmity that besiege us. These hornets, symbolizing the word of God sharper than any double-edged sword, pierce through the veils of fear and ignorance, driving out the Hivites, Canaanites, and Hittites from before us.

 

그리고 말씀의 인도를 따라 나아갈 때, 우리를 포위하는 적의 세력을 몰아내기 위해 보내진 말벌, 즉 구원의 약속을 만나게 됩니다. 좌우에 날선 검인 하나님 말씀을 상징하는 이 말벌은 두려움과 무지의 장막을 뚫고 히위족, 가나안족, 헷족을 우리 앞에서 몰아냅니다.

 

It is Mishpatim—the divine decree—to destroy these tribes of enmity, to uphold justice and righteousness in all our lifes. For in the balance of fair weights, in the scales of Yeshua's salvation, we find redemption and restoration for ourselves and for all humanity.

 

미쉬파팀, 즉 하나님의 명령은 이러한 적대적인 부족을 멸망시키고 우리의 모든 거래에서 정의와 공의를 지키는 것입니다. 공정한 저울, 예슈아의 구원의 저울에서 우리는 우리 자신과 모든 인류를 위한 구속과 회복을 발견할 수 있기 때문입니다.

 

So let us heed the call to arms, to wage war against the forces of enmity that threaten to divide us. Let us wield the sword of truth, the shield of faith, and the armor of righteousness as we march forward, for in our victory lies the promise of a new dawn—a kingdom where enmity is vanquished, and love reigns supreme.

 

그러니 우리를 분열시키려는 적의 세력에 맞서 전쟁을 하라는 부름에 귀를 기울입시다. 진리의 검과 믿음의 방패, 의의 갑옷을 입고 전진합시다. 우리의 승리 속에는 적대감이 사라지고 사랑이 최고로 통치하는 새로운 새벽의 약속이 있기 때문입니다.

As Moses ascended the sacred mount to commune with the Almighty, he carried with him the weight of divine revelation—the very essence of Mishpatim, the covenant of obedience. With resolute determination, he relayed the words and laws of the Lord to the assembled multitude, who, with one voice, pledged allegiance to the divine commandments. "Everything the Lord has said we will do," they proclaimed, embarking upon a journey of obedience and righteousness.

 

모세가 하나님과 교제하기 위해 성스러운 산에 올라갈 때, 그는 미쉬파팀, 즉 순종의 언약의 본질인 신성한 계시의 무게를 짊어지고 올라갔습니다. 그는 결연한 의지로 주님의 말씀과 율법을 모인 무리에게 전했고, 그들은 한 목소리로 신성한 계명에 대한 충성을 맹세했습니다. "주님께서 말씀하신 모든 것을 우리가 행하겠습니다."라고 선포하며 순종과 의의 여정을 시작했습니다.

 

In the presence of God, amidst the ethereal glow of lapis lazuli and the shimmering expanse of crystal-clear glass, Moses and the chosen few beheld the majesty of God. They saw and they ate and drank—a communion of spirit and sustenance, a sacred feast that transcended the mundane and touched the realm of the divine.

 

청옥의 미묘한 빛과 수정처럼 맑은 유리의 반짝이는 광활함 속에서 모세와 선택받은 소수의 사람들은 하나님의 면전에서 하나님의 위엄을 목격했습니다. 그들은 보고 먹고 마시며 영과 육의 교제, 즉 일상을 초월하여 하나님의 영역에 닿은 거룩한 잔치를 즐겼습니다.

 

For to obey the word is to partake in the covenantal banquet, to open the door to intimate fellowship with the Creator. It is a journey of transformation, where the Word becomes flesh, filling not just the stomach, but the entirety of one's being with divine truth and nourishment.

 

말씀에 순종하는 것은 언약의 잔치에 참여하는 것이며, 창조주와의 친밀한 교제의 문을 엽니다. 말씀이 육신이 되어 배뿐만 아니라 존재 전체를 신성한 진리와 영양분으로 채우는 변화의 여정입니다.

 

In the midst of a world besieged by the tumultuous seas of desire and death, the Sea of Glass beckons—a place of perfect peace, where the Word reigns supreme and every longing finds its fulfillment. Here, amidst the tranquil waters, the soul finds refuge from the storms of life, anchored in the unwavering promise of salvation.

 

욕망과 죽음의 소용돌이치는 바다에 포위된 세상 한가운데, 말씀이 최고로 통치하고 모든 갈망이 성취되는 완전한 평화의 장소인 유리바다가 손짓합니다. 고요한 물결 속에서 영혼은 흔들리지 않는 구원의 약속에 닻을 내리고 인생의 폭풍우로부터 피난처를 찾습니다.

 

To dwell in the Sea of Glass is to embrace the life of Mishpatim—to live out the covenant where words blossom into deeds, where obedience becomes the very fabric of existence. And in this sacred journey, Yeshua has gone before us, clearing the path and illuminating the way. All that remains is for us to follow, to tread the path of righteousness and surrender to the divine will.

 

유리바다에 거한다는 것은 미쉬파팀의 삶, 즉 말이 행동으로 꽃피고 순종이 존재의 기반이 되는 언약을 실천하는 삶을 받아들이는 것입니다. 그리고 이 성스러운 여정에서 예슈아께서는 우리보다 먼저 가셔서 길을 닦으시고 길을 비추셨습니다. 이제 남은 것은 우리가 그 뒤를 따라 의의 길을 걷고 하나님의 뜻에 항복하는 것입니다.

 

So let us heed the call to obedience, to walk in the footsteps of the faithful, and to journey towards the Sea of Glass—the place where heaven and earth converge, and the eternal banquet awaits.

 

그러니 순종하라는 부르심에 귀 기울이고, 믿음의 선조들의 발자취를 따라 하늘과 땅이 합쳐지고 영원한 잔치가 기다리고 있는 유리바다를 향해 여행합시다.
