To establish justice is to become a vessel of God's righteousness, to confront the shadows of injustice that linger in the corridors of oppression.

 

은혜와 사랑의 실타래가 얽혀 있는 존재의 융단속에 정의의 초석이 놓여 있습니다. 정의는 단순한 개념이 아니라 존재의 방식, 즉 거룩한 긍휼의 품 안에서 살아가는 삶입니다. 정의를 세운다는 것은 하나님의 의의 그릇이 되어 억압의 통로에 드리워진 불의의 그림자에 맞서는 것입니다.

 

We are called to repay the boundless grace bestowed upon us, to honor the legacy of liberation from the shackles of Egypt. This sacred duty, this life of repayment, is the essence of holiness—a journey where worship seamlessly melds with life, and life becomes an offering of worship.

 

우리는 이집트의 속박에서 벗어난 해방의 유산을 기리기 위해 우리에게 베풀어주신 무한한 은혜에 보답하도록 부름받았습니다. 이 신성한 의무, 보답의 삶은 예배와 삶이 자연스럽게 어우러지고 삶이 예배의 제물이 되는 여정, 즉 거룩함의 본질입니다.

 

"Let justice cascade like the flowing waters, let righteousness surge like an unstoppable tide." These are not mere words but the clarion call of the Christian mission—a mission rooted in the rebuilding of David's fallen tent, where justice knows no bounds, embracing Gentiles and Jews alike in its expansive embrace.

그러나 정의를 추구할 때 편파나 편견에 흔들리지 않도록 합시다. 공정성은 개인적인 감정과 입장을 초월하는 것이므로, 사람의 지위가 판단의 저울을 흔들지 않도록 해야합니다. 예배에서 우리는 하나님의 공평과 정의가 우리 삶의 구조로 만들어짐을 발견합니다.

 

Thus, the journey begins with a fervent desire. Specific questions pave the path toward establishing God's righteousness as free souls. This is the Mishpatim—a journey where worship becomes life, and life becomes worship—a journey toward the radiant dawn of justice.

My dear son,

 

Come, for I have wisdom to share with you, passed down through generations—the Mishpatim, the rules that guide us in living a life of righteousness and justice.

 

나의 아들아, 여러 세대에 걸쳐 전해 내려온 지혜, 즉 정의와 공의의 삶을 살도록 안내하는 규칙인 미쉬파팀(Mishpatim)을 네게 나누려고 해.

 

First, let me tell you about the importance of worship and prioritizing God in our lives. When we harvest our crops, we must offer the first fruits to God, showing gratitude for His blessings. And when we welcome new life into our family, our firstborn sons are dedicated to God, symbolizing our commitment to His service.

 

먼저, 예배의 중요성과 우리 삶에서 하나님을 우선순위로 두는 것에 대해 말하려고 한다. 우리는 농작물을 수확할 때 첫 열매를 하나님께 바치며 그분의 축복에 감사를 표해야 해. 그리고 새 생명을 가족으로 맞이할 때, 맏아들을 하나님께 드림은 그분을 섬기겠다는 우리의 헌신을 상징한단다.

 

Now, let's talk about holiness and integrity. We mustn't eat meat that has been torn by wild beasts, for it diminishes our humanity. If you eat meat that has been torn by an animal, you will become like an animal. Instead of living like an animal, filling my stomach and following my desires, we should live like Yeshua. Slander is one of the things that degrades humanity. Justice cannot be established through slander. Slander itself is not a tool of God. Inciting hostility is Satan's work. Good cannot be established through evil methods. You have to fight what you hate.

 

이제 거룩과 정직에 대해 이야기해 보자. 맹수에게 찢긴 고기는 인간성을 떨어뜨리기 때문에 먹어서는 안된다. 짐승에게 찢긴 고기를 먹으면 짐승처럼 될 것이야. 짐승처럼 살면서 내 배를 채우고 내 욕망을 따르지 말고 예슈아처럼 살아야 한단다. 비방이 인간성을 떨어뜨리는 것 중의 하나야. 비방으로 정의를 세울 수 없어. 비방 자체는 하나님의 도구가 아니란다. 적대감을 조장하는 것은 사탄의 일이지. 악한 방법으로는 선을 이룰 수 없어. 미워하는 것과 싸워야 해.

 

Instead, we must strive to live as Yeshua did, with compassion and dignity. Remember, son, slander and hostility have no place in our lives. We must always speak the truth and uphold righteousness.

 

대신 우리는 예슈아처럼 긍휼과 존엄성을 가지고 살기 위해 노력해야 해. 아들아, 비방과 적대감은 우리 삶에서 설 자리가 없음을 기억해라. 우리는 항상 진실을 말하고 의를 옹호해야 한다.

 

Truthfulness and justice are vital virtues, my son. We must never spread false reports or bear false witness against others. Our judgments should be fair and impartial, in addition to showing empathy towards others, just as we remember our own experiences as strangers in Egypt .

 

진실과 정의는 중요한 덕목이야. 우리는 절대로 다른 사람에 대해 허위 보도를 퍼뜨리거나 거짓 증언을 해서는 안 된단다. 우리가 이집트에서 나그네였던 것을 기억하고 다른 사람들에게 공감을 보일뿐 아니라 우리의 판단은 공정하고 공평해야 한다.

 

Rest and justice go hand in hand, my son. Every seventh year, we allow the land to rest, ensuring that even the poorest among us have enough to eat. And on the Sabbath, you are to rest, so that your ox and donkey can rest, and your slave-girl’s son and the foreigner be renewed.

 

휴식과 정의는 함께 가야 한다, 아들아. 우리는 7년마다 땅을 쉬게 하여 가장 가난한 사람들도 충분히 먹을 수 있게 한다. 그리고 안식일에는 소와 당나귀가 쉬고 여종의 아들과 나그네가 숨을 돌리도록 쉬어야 한단다.

 

Finally, let me share with you the importance of growth. We must treat the Torah with reverence, using its teachings to nourish our souls and help us grow in righteousness. And we must never misuse its wisdom, but instead, share it with others, nurturing their spirits and guiding them on the path of righteousness.

 

마지막으로 성장의 중요성에 대해 말하면 우리는 토라를 경건하게 대하고, 그 가르침을 통해 영혼을 키우고 의로움 속에서 성장하도록 도와야 해. 그리고 그 지혜를 오용하지 말고 다른 사람들과 공유하여 그들의 영혼을 키우고 의의 길로 인도해야 한다.

 

Remember, my son, these Mishpatim are more than just rules—they are the blueprint for a life of meaning, purpose, and righteousness. May you always walk in the ways of God, upholding justice and righteousness in all that you do.
