Rephidim, a place of rest, becomes the metaphorical bed from which one must rise. In the New Testament, echoes of this beckoning resonate as Jesus instructs a man of 38 years to lift his bed and walk. The narrative unveils a divine truth – the covenant door swings open when we relinquish the comfort of lying down, choosing instead the thorny path of suffering.
안식처인 르비딤은 사람이 일어나야 하는 은유적인 침상이 됩니다. 예수님이 38년 동안 누워 있던 사람에게 침상을 들고 일어나 걸으라고 지시할 때 이 메아리가 울려 퍼집니다. 이는 우리가 누워있는 안락함을 포기하고 가시밭길인 고난의 길을 선택할 때 언약의 문이 열린다는 진리를 드러냅니다.
As the Israelites camped before the imposing mountain, the Lord summoned Moses, calling him from the summit. Mountains, in their ascent, represent the spatial journey towards God. With each step, the world blurs, and the divine becomes clearer, signifying spiritual maturity attained through proximity to the God.
이스라엘 백성이 웅장한 산 앞에 진을 치고 있을 때, 주님은 모세를 정상에서 부르셨습니다. 산은 오르는 과정에서 하나님을 향한 공간적 여정을 상징합니다. 한 걸음 한 걸음 올라갈 때마다 세상은 흐려지고 하나님은 더욱 선명해지는데, 이는 하나님과 가까워짐으로 도달하는 영적인 성숙을 의미합니다.
"I have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself," declares the Lord. Here, the imagery of eagle wings transcends the constraints of earthly space, soaring beyond boundaries. These wings, intertwined in paradoxical unity, symbolize grace and truth, Israel and Gentiles, harmonizing contradictions into divine oneness.
"내가 이집트인에게 한 일과 내가 너희를 독수리 날개에 태워 내게로 데려온 일을 보았다."라고 주님은 선언하십니다. 여기서 독수리 날개의 이미지는 지상 공간의 제약을 뛰어넘어 경계를 넘어 날아오릅니다. 역설적인 연합으로 얽혀 있는 이 날개는 은혜와 진리, 이스라엘과 이방인을 상징하며 모순을 신성한 하나됨으로 조화시킵니다.
Wilderness, a space where only God and the individual exist, which is a season of deprivation and loss, yet also a divine honeymoon, an intimate communion with the Lord. In this sacred solitude, God proclaims greatness, and the wilderness becomes a canvas for divine revelations.
오직 하나님과 개인만이 존재하는 공간인 광야는 박탈과 상실의 시기이지만, 주님과의 친밀한 교제가 이루어지는 신성한 허니문이기도 합니다. 이 거룩한 고독 속에서 하나님은 위대함을 선포하시고, 광야는 하나님의 계시를 위한 캔버스가 됩니다.
Through the lens of thorns and hardship, rising from the place of rest, and ascending the mountainous terrain, the children of Israel traverse the boundless realms of time and space. In wilderness, where only God and I exist, the narrative of their spiritual journey unfolds, and the covenant awaits in the fullness of time.
이스라엘 자손은 가시덤불과 고난을 뚫고 안식처에서 일어나 산을 오르며 무한한 시간과 공간의 영역을 횡단합니다. 오직 하나님과 나만이 존재하는 광야에서 그들의 영적 여정의 서사가 펼쳐지고, 충만한 시간 속에 언약이 기다립니다.
Personal Exodus
In the celestial proclamation echoing through the ages, God unfolds a majestic plan—a divine Exodus not only from physical bondage but from the entanglements of our own weaknesses, the metaphorical Egypt of sin, anxiety, worry, anger, and self-pity. The Exodus isn't merely an ancient event but a perpetual calling, inviting each soul to break free from the shackles of personal limitations.
시대를 초월하여 울려 퍼지는 천상의 선포 속에서 하나님은 육체적 속박뿐만 아니라 우리 자신의 연약함인 죄, 불안, 걱정, 분노, 자기 연민의 은유적 이집트에서 벗어나는 장엄한 계획을 펼치십니다. 출애굽은 단순히 고대의 사건이 아니라 각 영혼을 개인적인 한계라는 족쇄에서 벗어나도록 초대하는 영원한 부르심입니다.
In the resounding covenant on Sinai's mount, God asserts His ownership of the entire earth. This is not a declaration of a confined deity but a sovereign assertion that He can liberate the world from its collective Egypt. The Exodus, then, becomes a cosmic deliverance, a redemption from the depths of our own vulnerabilities.
시내산에서 하나님은 온 땅에 대한 자신의 소유권을 주장하십니다. 이것은 제한된 신의 선언이 아니라 세상을 집단적인 이집트에서 해방시킬 수 있는 주권적인 주장입니다. 따라서 출애굽은 우주적 구원이자 우리 자신의 취약성 깊은 곳으로부터의 구원이 됩니다.
The divine proclamation, "if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant," unveils the path to becoming a special treasure, a concealed gem in the tapestry of existence. The call to be a kingdom of priests transcends mere religiosity; it beckons us to be mediators between God and a world ensnared in discord. The mission isn't insular but expansive—to bridge the gap between nations and the divine.
"너희가 참으로 내 목소리에 순종하고 내 언약을 지키면"이라는 신성한 선포는 존재에 숨겨진 보석과 같은 특별한 보물이 되는 길을 열어줍니다. 제사장 왕국이 되라는 부르심은 단순한 종교성을 넘어 하나님과 불화에 빠진 세상 사이의 중재자가 되라고 손짓합니다. 이 사명은 고립된 것이 아니라 열방과 하나님 사이의 간극을 메우는 광의의 사명입니다.
Yet, the Exodus is not solely a historical event; it is an archetype of personal and collective liberation. The trap of narrow thinking, fueled by self-centered worries, is the modern-day Egypt that God desires to liberate us from. The divine intent is for us to shed the cocoon of self-absorption and emerge as a butterfly, a kingdom of priests with a global perspective.
그러나 출애굽은 단순한 역사적 사건이 아니라 개인적, 집단적 해방의 원형입니다. 자기중심적인 걱정에 사로잡힌 편협한 사고의 덫은 하나님이 우리를 해방시키고자 하는 현대의 이집트입니다. 하나님의 의도는 우리가 자기 몰입의 고치를 벗어던지고 세계적인 관점을 가진 제사장 왕국, 나비로 거듭나는 것입니다.
God's vision is to unveil the vastness of our perspective, far beyond the confines of ego. In declaring the Israelites His special possession, God unveils His desire for each soul to be a hidden gem, not shackled by weaknesses or worldly concerns. The Exodus, then, is an invitation to a paradigm shift—an escape from the egocentric worldview that has gaslighted humanity for too long.
하나님의 비전은 자아의 한계를 훨씬 뛰어넘는 광대함을 드러내는 것입니다. 하나님은 이스라엘 백성을 자신의 특별한 소유물로 선언하시면서 각 영혼이 약점이나 세상적인 염려에 얽매이지 않고 숨겨진 보석이 되기를 바라시는 열망을 드러내셨습니다. 따라서 출애굽은 오랫동안 인류를 지배해 온 자기중심적 세계관으로부터의 탈출, 즉 패러다임의 전환으로 초대하는 이야기입니다.
Satan's insidious whispers have confined us, rendering us shabby and feeble. The time has come to rebuff these deceptions, to scoff at the bluffing of narrow thinking, and to proclaim the resounding truth that the world belongs to God. Casting aside the chains of self-centered faith, we embrace a transcendent perspective where personal weaknesses and worries fade into insignificance.
사탄의 교활한 속삭임이 우리를 가두어 초라하고 나약한 존재로 만들었습니다. 이러한 속임수를 거부하고 편협한 사고의 허세를 비웃으며 세상은 하나님의 것이라는 놀라운 진리를 선포해야 할 때가 왔습니다. 자기중심적 신앙의 사슬을 벗어던지고, 개인의 약점과 걱정이 무의미해지는 초월적 관점을 받아들일 때입니다.
As we stand at the crossroads of personal Exodus, what if I become poor or fall ill? Such concerns dissolve in the vastness of God's plan, and we, as His chosen ones, rise above the limitations of mortal worries. It is time to break free, proclaim God's Word, and embrace the boundless, liberating truth that the world indeed belongs to our Creator.
개인적 출애굽의 기로에 서 있는 지금, 가난해지거나 병에 걸리면 어떻게 되지? 그러한 염려는 하나님의 광대한 계획 속에서 사라지고, 우리는 하나님의 선택 받은 자로서 인간적인 염려의 한계를 뛰어넘습니다. 이제 우리는 자유를 얻고, 하나님의 말씀을 선포하며, 세상이 참으로 창조주의 것이라는 무한하고 자유로운 진리를 받아들여야 할 때입니다.
The bowl of readiness
In unison, a chorus rises, bold and clear, a covenant of hearts, with no trace of fear.
"All that the Lord has spoken, we shall do," words woven into a fabric, faithful and true.
두려움의 흔적도 없이 담대하고 분명하게, 마음의 언약을 맺는 합창이 일제히 울려 퍼집니다.
"주께서 말씀하신 모든 것을 우리가 행하리라." 신실하고 진실하게 짜여진 말씀입니다.
Moses, the messenger, brings back the pledge, a symphony of voices, from edge to edge.
Not waiting for God's response, they declare, a community of words, united in prayer.
모세는 약속을 되새기며 사방에서 들려오는 목소리의 교향곡을 들려줍니다.
하나님의 응답을 기다리지 않고 그들은 기도로 하나 된 말씀의 공동체를 선언합니다
The bowl of readiness, held in hands, before the pouring of divine commands.
Greatest victory in responding, as one, a dance of obedience, where freedom is spun.
하나님의 명령이 부어지기 전에 준비된 그릇을 손에 듭니다.
하나 되어 응답하는 위대한 승리, 자유가 펼쳐지는 순종의 춤입니다.
Transcending reason, planning's feeble art, complete obedience, the soul's noble part.
A community formed in this sacred creed, where the Word's embrace is all they need.
이성을 초월한 계획은 미약한 예술이나 완전한 순종, 영혼의 고귀한 부분입니다.
이 신성한 신조로 형성된 공동체는 말씀의 포옹이 그들에게 필요한 전부입니다.
God's voice, a promise in the dense cloud, "Sanctify them today and tomorrow," spoken loud.
]Holiness adorns in garments pure and white, righteous conduct, the beacon in the night.
"오늘과 내일 그들을 거룩하게 하라"는 하나님의 음성, 짙은 구름 속 약속이 큰 소리로 들려옵니다.
거룩함은 순백의 의복으로 장식되고, 의로운 행동은 밤의 등불이 됩니다.
Prepare, O people, for the Lord draws near, live temperate, distinguished, banish every fear.
Today and tomorrow, the canvas you paint, as royal priests, a covenant to acquaint.
백성들아, 주님이 가까이 오시니 준비하라, 절제하고 구별되게 살며 모든 두려움을 추방하라.
오늘과 내일, 여러분이 그리는 캔버스는 왕같은 제사장으로서 맺는 언약입니다.
In the imminent twilight, the end time draws nigh, channels of the covenant, beneath the sky.
A community of words, a living plea, In poetry, their confession, for all to see.
임박한 황혼, 하늘 아래 언약의 통로에서 마지막 때가 다가옵니다.
