I appeared; as God to Pharaoh

In the quiet corridors of history, the names Amram and Jochebed linger, not as immediate protagonists but as threads intricately woven into the fabric of an ordinary family.  Moses, born to this unassuming couple from the lineage of Levi, sets in motion a narrative that transcends the ordinary.

In the grand tapestry of time, where names resonate with destinies, Amram and Jochebed, their names pregnant with significance. Amram, not merely a moniker, but a declaration of a people set apart—exalted and honored among the multitude. It signifies more than societal acclaim; it embodies a people living with the divine nature, a chosen community where God's presence dwells within.

Contrary to this divine call stands the specter of Amalek and the echoes of the Nicolaitans—an ancient struggle against forces seeking to humble, diminish, and sow discord. Herein lies the age-old battle against anti-Semitism, a fight for the sanctity of a people chosen by God.

 

이 신성한 부르심과는 반대로 아말렉의 유령과 니골라당의 메아리, 즉 민족을 비하하고 약화시키며 불화를 심으려는 세력에 맞선 고대의 투쟁이 존재합니다. 여기에는 반유대주의와의 오랜 싸움, 즉 하나님이 선택한 민족의 신성함을 지키기 위한 싸움이 있습니다.

 

Jochebed, the other half of this narrative, bears a name heavy with the glory of God. It is not a mere abstraction but a tangible reality, a weightiness that beckons to be glorified in the tapestry of existence.

 

이 이야기의 나머지 절반인 요게벳은 하나님의 영광이 담긴 무거운 이름을 지니고 있습니다. 그것은 단순한 추상이 아니라 실재하는 실체, 존재의 태피스트리에서 영광을 받으라고 손짓하는 무게감입니다.

 

Their union, a divine alignment, births Aaron and Moses. Two figures destined to embody the essence of the Exodus—the escape from the oppressive shackles of a life measured by straw bales and bricks. They stand as beacons—a royal priesthood, a holy nation—calling forth a people claimed by the divine.

 

두 사람은 아론과 모세를 낳습니다. 짚단과 벽돌로 측정되는 억압적인 삶의 굴레에서 탈출하는 출애굽의 본질을 구현할 운명의 두 인물. 아론과 모세는 왕같은 제사장, 거룩한 나라, 즉 하나님이 부르신 백성을 불러내는 등대 역할을 합니다.

 

Now, as we stand at the threshold of our own stories, at the cusp of destinies waiting to unfold, the tale of Amram and Jochebed beckons. It whispers the call to rise, to glorify, to escape the shackles of a life less than extraordinary. Their names may not be mere echoes of the past but vibrant threads, weaving a tapestry of purpose and destiny in our lives. For we, too, are called to live out the epic saga of exalted destinies and the weighty glory of God.

God, in His sovereign orchestration, selects Moses—an ordinary man from an ordinary family. The divine plan unfolds not by bestowing extraordinary powers upon a distinguished being but by choosing a vessel of humble origin. 

 

하나님은 그분의 주권적인 조율에 따라 평범한 가정의 평범한 사람 모세를 선택하셨습니다. 하나님의 계획은 특별한 존재에게 특별한 능력을 부여하는 것이 아니라, 평범한 출신을 선택함으로써 펼쳐집니다. 

 

To Pharaoh, Moses is elevated to divine status, a symbol of God's sovereignty over earthly powers. The story, however, extends beyond the royal courts to encompass the entirety of humanity. It signifies God's providence in choosing the seemingly ordinary to carry out His extraordinary purposes.

 

파라오에게 모세는 지상 권력에 대한 하나님의 주권을 상징하는 신성한 지위로 승격됩니다. 그러나 이 이야기는 왕실을 넘어 전 인류를 아우르는 이야기로 확장됩니다. 이는 하나님의 특별한 목적을 수행하기 위해 평범해 보이는 사람들을 선택하시는 하나님의 섭리를 의미합니다.

 

Sons and daughters of God, in this generation, are beckoned to live in the image of their Creator. The history of salvation, intricately woven through the threads of an ordinary family, unfolds the divine narrative through the lives of those who dare to declare, "I am Jehovah."

 

이 세대의 하나님의 아들과 딸들은 창조주의 형상대로 살라는 손짓을 받습니다. 평범한 가족의 실타래를 통해 복잡하게 짜여진 구원의 역사는 감히 "나는 여호와다"라고 선언하는 사람들의 삶을 통해 신성한 이야기를 펼쳐냅니다.

 

In the ordinary, the extraordinary finds its rhythm; the simplicity of one family's narrative unfolds the grand tapestry of salvation. In the unity of Aaron, the spokesman of the Word and life of a priest, Moses, embodying the divine, and Miriam, serving as an intercessor and prophet, they merge into a singular force—echad—to rescue the Israelites.

 

평범함 속에서 비범함이 리듬을 찾고, 한 가족의 소박한 이야기에서 구원의 장대한 태피스트리가 펼쳐집니다. 말씀의 대변자이자 제사장의 삶을 사는 아론, 신성을 구현하는 모세, 중보자와 예언자의 역할을 하는 미리암이 하나가 되어 이스라엘 백성을 구출하기 위해 하나의 힘, 즉 에하드로 합쳐집니다.

Pharaoh, a name draped in the shadow of malevolence, speaks with the harshness born of a calloused heart. It is a reflection of thought, an echo of the inner workings of the mind. The significance lies not just in the spoken words but in the very material that constructs them. For the words we utter carry the power to shape our thoughts, and if spoken in malevolence, they craft a breeding ground for wicked ideas. To live as Jehovah, we must extricate ourselves from the contamination of impure lips, recognizing that our speech mirrors the sanctity within.

 

악의의 그림자가 드리워진 이름 파라오는 냉담한 마음에서 비롯된 가혹함으로 말합니다. 그것은 생각의 반영이자 마음의 내면을 반영하는 메아리입니다. 중요한 것은 내뱉어지는 말뿐만 아니라 그 말을 구성하는 재료에 있습니다. 우리가 내뱉는 말은 우리의 생각을 형성하는 힘을 가지고 있으며, 악의적으로 말하면 악한 생각의 온상이 됩니다. 여호와처럼 살기 위해서는 우리의 말이 내면의 거룩함을 반영한다는 사실을 인식하고 불순한 입술의 오염에서 벗어나야 합니다.

 

"The Word became flesh." This signifies the divine manifestation, where the Word, synonymous with God, took on human form and walked the earth as Jesus Christ. In this divine act, God's essence became tangible, offering a proclamation of the gospel, and bringing healing and genuine peace to those who embraced it.

 

"말씀이 육신이 되어" 이는 하나님과 동의어인 말씀이 인간의 모습을 취하고 예수 그리스도로서 이 땅을 걸으신 신성한 현현을 의미합니다. 하나님의 본질이 실체가 되어 복음을 선포하고, 그것을 받아들인 사람들에게 치유와 진정한 평화를 가져다주었습니다.

 

In parallel, as Aaron and Moses united their voices to convey God's message to Pharaoh, we, too, are called to a vocation of advocacy. Our mission echoes that of advocates of creation—to live out the divine and articulate it in our speech. Just as God spoke to Moses, and Aaron declared those words to Pharaoh, we stand as holy advocates, proclaiming God's truth, offering gratitude, blessing, and declaring, "It is finished," irrespective of circumstance.

 

아론과 모세가 파라오에게 하나님의 메시지를 전달하기 위해 한 목소리를 냈던 것처럼, 우리 역시 대언자의 소명으로 부름을 받았습니다. 우리의 사명은 거룩함을 살아내고 그것을 우리의 말로 표현하는 창조의 대언자의 사명입니다. 하나님께서 모세에게 말씀하시고 아론이 파라오에게 그 말씀을 선포한 것처럼, 우리는 거룩한 대언자로서 하나님의 진리를 선포하고 감사와 축복을 전하며 상황에 관계없이 "다 이루었다"고 선언해야 합니다.

 

Our commission compels us to discard the remnants of pitiful words, insults, profanity, slander, resentment, and falsehoods, and to stand resolutely as individuals who speak the Word—the very essence of our sacred calling.

 

우리의 사명은 연민, 모욕, 욕설, 비방, 분노, 거짓의 잔재를 버리고 우리의 거룩한 소명의 본질인 말씀을 전하는 사람으로 단호하게 서도록 합니다.
