Names; Yitro, Moshe and Pharaoh

Yitro and Moshe

 

In the vast wilderness, I had son-in-law, not of blood, Moses, strong and true.

He tended my flock, a shepherd so fine, in the rough places, his strength did shine.

 

광활한 광야에서 나에게는 강하고 진실한 사위 모세가 있었습니다.

그는 내 양떼를 잘 돌보는 목자였고, 거친 곳에서 그의 힘은 빛을 발했습니다.

 

When the call to Egypt echoed in his ear, no words of restraint did I utter, no fear.

"Go in peace," I said, for I knew His path, a journey ordained, facing Pharaoh's wrath.

 

이집트로의 부름이 그의 귀에 들렸을 때, 나는 제지하거나 두려워하지 않았습니다.

그분의 길을 알았기에, 나는 "평안히 가라"고 말했습니다. 파라오의 분노에 직면하여 예정된 여행입니다.

 

My reliance on him, steadfast and sure, a bond forged in the wilderness, enduring and pure.

In the parting of ways, I released him with grace, trusting his purpose, in God's embrace.

 

그에 대한 나의 신뢰는 확고부동하며, 광야에서 맺어진 유대감은 지속적이고 순수합니다. 

이별의 길에서 나는 하나님 품에서 그분의 목적을 신뢰하며 은혜로 모세를 가게합니다.

Pharaoh and Moshe

 

Pharaoh, in might and majesty arrayed, built his empire with slaves' toil, a pyramid made.

Depriving them of rest, he sought control, rank and class, his empire's lofty goal.

 

파라오는 힘과 위엄을 앞세워 노예들의 수고로 제국을 건설하고 피라미드를 만들었습니다.

노예들의 휴식을 박탈한 파라오는 제국의 고상한 목표인 지배와 계급을 추구했습니다.

 

To worship the sun god, a realm defined, where servitude and bondage were entwined.

A festival in the desert, God's call, unbearable for Pharaoh, he did appall.

 

태양신을 숭배하는 그 곳은 예속과 속박이 얽혀 있습니다.

하나님은 광야에서 절기를 지키라고 부르십니다. 파라오는 견딜 수 없이 싫어합니다.

 

Shabbat, the basis of the feast divine, a gift for Hebrew, in God's design.

Yet Pharaoh, in his quest for might, increased their toil, binding them tight.

 

샤밧(안식일)은 신성한 절기의 기초이며 하나님이 디자인하신 히브리인들을 위한 하나님의 선물입니다.

그러나 파라오는 권력을 탐하여 그들의 수고를 가중시키고 단단히 묶어둡니다.

 

The Exodus, a journey to break the chain, from the bondage that caused such strain.

Moses' purpose, to set his people free, a mission that Pharaoh failed to see.

 

출애굽, 그 사슬을 끊는 여정, 그러한 긴장을 초래한 속박에서 벗어나기 위한 여정입니다.

백성을 자유롭게 하려는 모세의 목적은 파라오가 보지 못한 모세의 사명입니다.

 

In seeking dominance, power, and control, Pharaoh, unwittingly, bound his own soul.

The true meaning of Exodus unfolds, in breaking chains, true freedom molds.

 

지배와 권력, 통제를 추구하면서 파라오는 자신도 모르게 자신의 영혼을 속박했습니다.

출애굽의 진정한 의미는 사슬을 끊는 데서 진정한 자유가 형성됩니다.

The lives of Moses and Pharaoh diverged significantly due to their responses to God's call for their names(sh'mot). Moses embraced his role as a servant of God and a savior, while Pharaoh clung to secular power and resisted the divine call for liberation and justice.

 

모세와 파라오의 삶은 그들 이름에 두신 하나님의 부르심에 대한 응답에 따라 크게 달랐습니다. 모세는 하나님의 종이자 구원자로서의 역할을 받아들인 반면, 파라오는 세속 권력에 매달리고 해방과 정의를 향한 하나님의 부르심에 저항했습니다.

Pharaoh

 

In the realm of Pharaoh's thoughts and royal decree, the sun god's worship held dominion, the essence of his decree.

"Why won't they heed my every command, obey without objection? Why bring upon my kingdom this divine insurrection?"

 

파라오의 생각과 왕실의 법령에서 태양신 숭배는 파라오의 지배권에 핵심입니다.

"왜 그들은 나의 모든 명령에 귀를 기울이지 않고 이의 없이 순종하지 않는가? 왜 내 왕국에 이런 신성한 반란을 일으키는가?"

 

Sun god's worship bred a hierarchy, a rigid, unbending chain, where rank and privilege dictated, causing the lowly pain.

"Why disrupt the order I meticulously uphold? Can't they see my power, my reign, my kingdom bold?"

 

태양신 숭배는 경직되고 구부러지지 않는 사슬 같은 위계질서를 낳습니다. 계급과 특권이 지시하는 곳에서 비천한 자들에게 고통이 임합니다.

"왜 내가 세심하게 지켜온 질서를 무너뜨리는가? 그들은 내 힘과 통치, 왕국의 대담함을 볼 수 없나?"

 

But in the heart of worship, a different tune does play, a melody of gratitude, no matter night or day. 

 

그러나 마음의 예배에는 다른 곡조가 연주됩니다. 밤낮을 가리지 않는 감사의 멜로디가 흐르고 있습니다.

 

Yet, worship true and humble, an offering of the heart, is not coerced, commanded; it's a choice to be a part.

 

그러나 진실하고 겸손한 예배, 마음의 예물은 강요나 명령이 아니라 선택입니다.

 

In the Pharaoh's thoughts, worship was denied, a refusal to give thanks, a heart hardened in pride.

The Exodus, a call to break free from this sunlit realm, to worship the true God, the One at the helm.

 

파라오의 생각에서 예배는 거부되었습니다. 감사하기를 거절하고 마음은 교만함으로 굳어졌습니다.

출애굽은 태양이 내리쬐는 이 땅에서 벗어나 참된 하나님, 통치자 되시는 분을 경배하라는 부름이었습니다.
