Gather for the Shabbat

 

VAYAKHEL (And He Assembled)

Then Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said to them, “These are the words which the Lord has commanded you to do: (Exodus 35:1)

 

모세는 이스라엘 자손의 온 회중을 모아 놓고 말하였다.

“주님께서 당신들에게 실천하라고 명하신 말씀은 이러합니다. (출애굽기 35:1)

 

In the last few Parashiot of Terumah, Tetzaveh and the first part of Ki Tisa, God instructed Moses regarding the making of the Mishkan (Tabernacle, dwelling place), its vessels, and the priestly garments.

In this Daily Torah, the glory of the Lord filled the Temple after the work of building it was completed.

 

테루마의 마지막 몇 파라시오트와 테짜베 그리고 키 티사의 첫 부분에서 하나님은 모세에게 미쉬칸(성막, 처소)과 성막의 그릇, 제사장 의복을 만드는 것에 대해 말씀하셨습니다. 이번 주 매일 토라는 성전 건축이 완성된 후 주님의 영광이 성전을 가득 채운 내용입니다.

 

This week's Torah portion, Vayakhel, meaning "He assembled," imparts a profound message to us, akin to dry bones scattered and disjointed, urging us to come together and form a unified whole. It reflects the divine nature of gathering scattered souls, epitomizing God's desire to gather the dispersed children of Israel and those who feel cast out. Ultimately, it underscores the necessity of unity within the body of believers to elevate Yeshua, symbolizing our spiritual leadership.

 

바야크헬은 "그가 모았다"는 뜻으로  흩어지고 분리된 마른 뼈와 같은 우리가 함께 모여 하나가 될 것을 촉구합니다. 흩어진 영혼을 모으고자 하는 하나님의 본성을 나타내며, 흩어진 이스라엘 자손과 버림받았다고 느끼는 사람들을 모으고자 하는 하나님의 열망을 상징합니다. 궁극적으로는 우리의 영적 리더십인 예슈아를 높이기 위해 믿는 자들의 몸 안에서 하나가 되어야 함을 강조합니다.

 

This call to unity is not merely a gathering of the masses but akin to mobilizing an army, summoning individuals to coalesce into the body of Christ, where strength lies in unity. Sacrificial giving and mutual elevation are vital for this unity to flourish.

 

이러한 연합에 대한 부름은 단순히 대중을 모으는 것이 아니라 군대를 동원하는 것과 비슷하며, 개인이 그리스도의 몸으로 합쳐지도록 소환하는 것이며, 여기서 힘은 연합에 있습니다. 이러한 연합이 꽃피우려면 희생적인 나눔과 서로를 높이는 것이 필수적입니다.

 

In this context, the Shabbat is granted as a day of rest, sanctified for communion with God and realigning our purposes. It's a day dedicated to laboring towards oneness with the One who entrusted us with a sacred mission.

 

이러한 맥락에서 안식일은 하나님과 교제하고 우리의 목적을 재정립하기 위해 거룩하게 구별된 안식의 날로 주어졌습니다. 안식일은 우리에게 거룩한 사명을 맡기신 분과 하나가 되기 위해 노력하는 날입니다.

 

Yet, the Shabbat  has been neglected, reduced to mere Sunday services. Its absence deprives us of our connection with God, akin to robbing our souls of life. Reclaiming the Shabbat is akin to declaring war against the forces that seek to strip away our spiritual essence. Losing the Shabbat is tantamount to losing our very lives.

 

그러나 안식일은 소홀히 여겨져 단순한 주일 예배로 축소되었습니다. 안식일의 부재는 우리 영혼의 생명을 빼앗는 것과 마찬가지로 하나님과의 연결을 박탈합니다. 안식일을 되찾는다는 것은 우리의 영적 본질을 빼앗으려는 세력에 맞서 전쟁을 선포하는 것과 비슷합니다. 안식일을 잃는다는 것은 우리의 생명을 잃는 것과 같습니다.

 

The prohibition against kindling fire on the Shabbat symbolizes preserving our energy solely for God's purposes, refraining from igniting alternative pursuits. It's a call to realign our focus, redirecting our efforts from worldly success to spiritual fulfillment.

 

안식일에 불을 피우는 것을 금지하는 것은 우리의 열정을 오직 하나님의 뜻을 위해 보존하고, 다른 것을 추구하는 데 불을 붙이지 말라는 뜻입니다. 이는 우리의 초점을 재조정하여 세상적인 성공에서 영적인 성취로 방향을 전환하라는 요청입니다.

 

Therefore, the Shabbat serves as a time for us to come together, rejuvenate our connection with God, and reorient our lives. It's a reminder to kindle the flames of devotion to God, refraining from distractions that diminish its sanctity.

 

따라서 안식일은 우리가 함께 모여 하나님과의 관계를 회복하고 삶의 방향을 재정립하는 시간입니다. 안식일은 하나님께 헌신의 불을 지피고 거룩을 훼손하는 산만함을 삼가도록 상기시켜주는 시간입니다.

 

In essence, the Shabbat beckons us to embrace unity, deepen our intimacy with God, and reorder our lives according to His divine plan. It's a time to resist the allure of worldly pursuits and embrace the precious gift of divine communion.

 

본질적으로 안식일은 우리가 연합하고 하나님과 친밀하며 그분의 신성한 계획에 따라 삶을 재정비하도록 손짓합니다. 안식일은 세상의 유혹을 물리치고 신성한 친교라는 귀한 선물을 받아들여야 하는 시간입니다.

Parashat Vayakhel – Wisdom of the Crowd

 

 

Offerings from willing hearts,
Gathered to form the sacred parts.
Gold, silver, and bronze, they bring,
Threads of blue, purple, scarlet, entwine,

Hearts, in unity, their devotion define.

 

기꺼이 바치는 마음에서 나온 제물,
신성한 기구를 만들기 위해 모였습니다.
금, 은, 놋을 그들이 가져옵니다,
청색, 자색, 주홍색 실이 얽혀 있습니다.

하나 된 마음, 그들의 헌신이 정의합니다.

 

Ram skins dyed red, badger hides,

Covering faults, grace abides.
Acacia wood, sturdy and strong,
Anointing oil, prayers prolong.

 

붉은 색으로 물들인 숫양 가죽, 해달 가죽,
허물을 덮고 은혜가 머무릅니다.
조각목, 튼튼하고 견고합니다,
기름부음으로 기도가 오래갑니다.

 

Spices sweet, incense rise,
Jewels gleam, eternal ties.
Artisans, with wisdom deep,
Craft the sanctuary, God's keep.

 

향품이 달콤하고 향이 피어오릅니다,
보석은 빛나고, 영원한 인연이 이어집니다.
깊은 지혜를 지닌 장인들이,
하나님의 성소를 만들었습니다.

 

Hearts attuned, in harmony,
Building the Lord's unity.
In offerings freely given,
Lies the joy of heaven-driven.

 

조율된 마음, 조화로운 마음이,
주님과 연합을 이룹니다.
자유롭게 드려지는 예물에,
하늘이 주도하는 기쁨이 있습니다.
